Hello Scouts,

Thank you to everyone who came to the meeting this week and helped to clean and reorganize the action packers. That is a really important part of getting ready for the next year of camping.

Next week, we have a special guest who uses a 3D printer to create maps of Colorado. He’ll show us some of his work and explain how he uses 3D printers. Should be a pretty fun time. After that we will also work on the Citizenship in Society and Electronics merit badges.

On to the update:

1) February 2 – 4: Klondaree. First campout of 2024. This is a district event similar to the Camporee with patrol competitions. Very fun. Sign up here so we can plan. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0E4AAAAD22AA8-47205422-klondaree. I’ll move the sign-up deadline is January 22 to give more scouts a chance to sign up.

2) Sunday, February 4: Scout Sunday. Scouts should plan to come to the service at Hope to show our reverence and support for the church. We also need scouts to do the readings and be ushers and greeters. If you would like to help with any of these, please let Mr. Wilcox know ASAP.

3) We have space in our Northern Tier crews. This is canoeing in Northern Minnesota for a week departing on either July 10 or 13. Please, talk to Mr. Wilcox if you are interested.

4) Philmont: We now have enough interest that we have added a second Philmont crew departing on July 10, 2025. Excitingly, we may have enough interest to have a girls-only crew. There are still spaces available, so please, let me know if you are interested (no obligation at this point, just gathering interest).

5) There is an opportunity for a scout who would like to ski with a special needs girl at Eldora on March 2 and Copper on February 12. Training and ski passes are free, but you will need to provide your own transportation. Any scouts who are interested should contact Mrs. Beals.

Thank you and let me know if you have any questions.

Mr. Wilcox
